Creston Yeah, for Crysis. But since Crysis 2 was just a console port, doubt it had 64 bit. |

Steam survey: 32.06% are DX10
Still rocking my GTX 285 and unless there's a sweet deal for a 680 I'm not upgrading right now. It'll probably work on DX10 but I'll miss out on the DX11 features - first thing I did with Crysis 2 was turn off bloom, depth of field, lens flairs, and motion blur.
It'll be interesting to see how good or bad the textures are with this one, they did a horrible job with Crysis 2. |

In screenshots Crysis looks a bit more cartoony but holds up really well.
I've yet to play Crysis 2, only spent about 20 minutes in Far Cry 2 (really didn't like something about it), and have yet to play Far Cry 3 (but I will), so I'm judging the posted screenshots only. |

I found a few more Crysis 2 shots that might be slightly better: Indoors Cobbles Grassy

When I was looking to get a new video card not long ago I was looking at all the requirements of the top FPS games and none required the best video card at that time. Although I don't recall them having a separate 'recommended' and 'hi-performance' category either.. |

That will just be to account for the RAM used by the operating system, though developers really should make the jump to 64bit only. Don't forget that graphics cards use RAM when the VRAM is maxed out. |

I wasn't really impressed with the graphics in the original Crysis - I thought both Crysis 2 and Far Cry 2 looked better. A lot of that is related to art direction. Don't get me wrong though, it was still a very good looking game.

Crysis 1 didn't scale at all well for SLI - 2 (and 3) do though which is nice
Crysis 2 with the texture mods on max will tax most systems - i'm hoping 3 ships with high res textures and a decent FOV from the get-go seeing as they promised it will push PCs hard. C2 plays really well for me (670s/sli) even with tessellation etc. |

At the moment Far Cry 3 is really pushing my current rig, though I'm pretty certain it's driver related and I'm sure a few patches will improve performance. To game at the top end - which franchises like Far Cry and Crysis have always been about - you need top specs.
Crysis 3 looks like it will be a decent game but it certainly looks a lot more linear than Far Cry 3 - hopefully that won't hurt game length. But if it's not on Steam then I'll pass, just like Battlefield 3, Mass Effect 3 and the upcoming SimCity - all games I would have otherwise bought at or near release. Hopefully EA will get the message at some point. |

I'm glad all requirements show DX11 though. I consider this a mistake on their part since I'm guessing that DX10 hardware will play it, but the DirectX 11 software needs to be installed. The low-end cards listed indeed are DX10 cards.
