Dirty Bomb Announced

A new Dirty Bomb Website is live, announcing plans for a new PC multiplayer shooter from Splash Damage (Wolfenstein: Enemy Territory, Enemy Territory: Quake Wars, Game they don't mention). The site is pretty sparse so far, but they do offer the opportunity to reserve you player name, a Dirty Bomb Forum to discuss the project, and a teaser trailer offering a look at a dystopian future environment and glimpses of run-and-gun gameplay.

It's clearly going to be F2P, at which point I lose all interest.

Is this free-to-play or what?

I also fell for the Brink hype-machine. Their first and perhaps last great game was Enemy Territory.

Looks like BRINK and we all know how awful that was. ETQW was average and nothing compared to Battlefield 2. It's a dead genre as far as I am concerned, they just have no idea what they are doing.

Go back to basics. See the original UT for what the benchmark is.

Yep, they're still trying to coast on their past accolades, but it should speak volumes that they needed to start their own free-to-play publishing company to get their new games out... I guess id and now Bethesda don't want anything to do with them anymore.

They shouldn't even be allowed to make games after Brink. And a much better title would be Dirty Sanchez or maybe Cleveland Steamer.

They should give this for free those who own a copy Brink as excuse for wasting there money on such a letdown.

That would be pretty pointless, seeing as this like all future Splash Damage games will be F2P.

They did an amazing job at hyping Brink up like crazy. I remember my friend and I going crazy for all those videos they released and how cool it looked.

Now if only they could make games as well as they hype them...

Warchest is a spin off from Splash Damage Warchest

Like that press release says, they have also set up a infrastructure company: http://fireteam.net/

The logos of all three companies are in that trailer.

Didn't dig that deep; good info, thank you.

Same as everybody else. After the fuckup that was Brink, and the string of broken promises that followed it, I'm not touching this for a long time.

Not even being F2P.

I miss the old Splash Damage.

I only spent a few minutes playing Planetside 2 and it looks like a vastly improved version of ETQW. I wonder how this game can compete with it.

After the fiasco with the Brink hype machine, lets hope they learnt a thing or two. Maybe they make a solid shooter again.
I have a nifty blue line!

Yeah I'll wait for many, many user reviews before even thinking about this. I'm not as unforgiving as many around here but Brink was a let down on so many levels.
