See how that works? Just because I played for 200+ hours doesnt mean the game is somehow magically golden or that those 200 hours were well spent. Understood. You weren't enjoying the gameplay or the story yet you spent 200+ hours on the game.

Unlike many here, I decided to reinstall it and give it an honest shake again. I had even sold all my gear and gold when I quit so I was really starting from nothing as a new player would. They've actually improved the game quite a bit, it's pretty much to the stage of where it should have been at launch minus PvP.
That said some aspects of the game are fundamentally broken and no amount of tweaking will fix them. You get a ton of loot thrown at you but the ratio of shit to good is so awful that it numbs you to the whole experience. Choices should be compelling, in Torchlight 2 I would often hang onto a few items and try them out to see which best fit my gameplay style. In Diablo 3 you will vendor 99.9% of what you see without ever evaluating it in a cursory manner, let alone equipping it.
ARPGs in general are wearing out for me, none really got it right this go. TL2 comes the closest, great randomization and loot but the gameplay mechanics are rough and the production values are small studio. I hate to say it but the best thing would be the TL2 devs back with the budget and time that a Blizzard product receives. |

I still stand by the fact that ive had a couple of hundred good play hours out of £30 which is damn good doing. Not put any money into the RMAH (or gold farmers). All my builds are budget ones (even made a few guides on the forums).
Still there are other games to play and after picking up KOTOR2 and borderlands 2 in the sale im off D3 for the time being. Nah, you're not the solo defender. I thoroughly enjoyed my time in D3 up until about 50% through inferno - then it just became absurd. I don't regret the money I spent, either. I got more hours played out of D3 than I have a lot of other games for the same price. |

It's just high profile, and high profile games are subject to review bombing by the shallow end of the gene pool. I wouldnt call it the worst AAA game in history but it is the game that destroyed a wonderful franchise. Diablo3 is absolutely undeserving of the name Diablo and as such it deserves that 3.3 score. |

Early days of D2 and D2X it was do-able (Expansion released, I made $5000 in four months when $1 US was worth $1.50 CAD), not many people were doing it and it was easy to sell items on EBay since there were no rules against it back in 2000/2001. This time around, everyone is trying to do it and unless the item rolls with near perfect stats for a class, it isn't worth anything at all. Unless you're botting on multiple accounts and lucky, this is not your main job. |
