Jailed Bohemia Interactive Devs Denied Bail

Eurogamer has word from a Czech news report that the pair of Bohemia Interactive developers arrested in September in Myrina, Greece for Espionage have been refused bail. They are now awaiting trial, and word is this process is being delayed considerably by strikes in Greece, though apparently "strike season" is over. The pair's families are now apparently attempting to get the Czech president and prime minister to step in, claiming their foreign ministry has let them down. "Our boys no longer tell us on the phone that it's alright, that they're handling it," one of the mothers said. "After the court's decision we only hear from them something that no parent ever wants to hear: Mom, dad, please save us."

Greece is not an important player? In what? The world is not some sort of game. Is some country supposed to invade Greece to free these guys?

In the scheme of things, Greece really doesn`t matter. They are not an important player. I hope someone who has a head on their shoulders intervenes and helps clear this issue.

After that we can all wait for "My Big Fat Greek ARMA 3" to get released. OPAaaaaaaaaaaaaaa!!!!!!!!!! Let Bohemian Excenos go home!!!!!!

Going to the embassies directly always gets you somewhere much much faster. Unless your foreign ministry isn't run by braindead turtles.

But unless there is a trial with a sentence the foreign ministry has no handle on this. Until they are sentenced there is literally nothing to be done.

This story is pretty insane. I can't believe it's gone on this long.

Amir Mirza Hekmati is still held in Iran, over a year later.

It is pretty nuts but it's not like people are arrested for espionage everyday either. It's as serious as it gets no matter where you get arrested. So, it's not like we know the whole story here.

"Nobody wants to be nobody in America. Ed is the apotheosis of a prevailing American syndrome. It used to be that someone became famous because they were special. Now people are considered special just for being famous. Fame, itself, is its own virtue.
