Any Top100 list that doesnt include Tie Fighter, or X-Com (UFO: Enemy Unknown) cannot be taken seriously.... I agree that no list is complete without either of those, (and this one is missing a few more undeniable classics), the vast majority of what's listed makes for a good list. The person or people who compiled this list clearly know their stuff about gaming's history. The thing I wonder is why limit your list to an arbitrary number? "Top 10, Top 50, Top 100, etc"... all of these are going to lead to leaving out games that belong on any historical list of amazing games. Gaming is too old now for any "Top 100 of All Time" list to be complete. The 70's had fewer sure, because the medium was only barely coming into existence then, but the 80's and 90's alone would fill any list to bursting. Then there's the amazing 2000 - present era, which is jam-packed with awesomeness. |

You can tell they know what they're talking about when they include games like: Dune 2, Ultima IV, Galaga, Portal, Desktop Defense, Civ, Thief, and Deus Ex. I have to disagree. I've never played any of the previous hitman games, but I think that Conan video has sold me.
Of course, GMGs deal makes the decision a lot easier. |
