I've yet to play more than about an hour of the GTA4 campaign thanks to the lousy controls and driving physics so I'm not holding my breath. It does look cool but a shitty PC port (and I'm usually defending such things) coupled with driving being unpleasant in a primarily driving game means I'll wait this one out.
I was very bothered by the controls on PC when I first got GTA 4 too, which was just a few months ago, believe it or not... BUT, after a few hours of practice with it, it wasn't a problem. Now, I can drift the car around corners and do pretty much anything I want with the keyboard controls just as well as any driving game that uses my G25. I think the default physics in GTA are fantastic and it's more a point of getting used to the controls than anything else, and once you do, the beauty of the physics become more apparent.
Let's just say that I also played Test Drive Unlimited 2, and GTA 4's car physics are 1000x better, and yet TDU2 is supposed to be a driving game. |
