Ubisoft Pitching CliffyB?

Cliff Bleszinski tweets about a gift from Ubisoft that implies they are interested in ending Epic's former design director unemployment: "Hotel called my room. A package for me? Inside? A fully charged phone with one # programmed and the Ubisoft logo on the backdrop. Now what?" Seems the answer would be to call the number, but maybe this is a trick question. It's nice to hear that Ubisoft is doing well enough that they've replaced business cards with working cell phones. Thanks VG247.

Please release Watch Dogs before Cliffy has a chance to 'Gears of War' it.

Ubi and CliffyB. Made for each other.

Just think how many incredibly idiotic things they could say if they joined forces.

Morpheus: Yes. I've been looking for you, Cliffy. I don't know if you're ready to see what I want to show you, but unfortunately you and I have run out of time. They're coming for you, Cliffy, and I don't know what they're going to do...

I was thinking 'taken'... I have a special set of skills...

But ya, Matrix fits better...

As for rooting for Agent Smith... How could you not have already? Best (and best played) character in the movie (There was only one movie).

Part of me would like to see this happen, as I reckon most of his "I'm The Biggest Dick On The Planet" moments were towing the line that Microsoft wanted. I don't think he wanted to drop PC support for Gears Of War but when Microsoft is your boss you say what they tell you to say. Doesn't mean he's not a dick, but he might be a talented dick that can do worthwhile stuff in the right hands.

If Cliff Blezinski can be credited for anything it would be the support he has provided to indies for a decade now with the Unreal SDK while at Epic in my view. Which is what makes his otherwise flippant dismissal of the PC market in recent years so bizarre and frustrating.

He had nothing to do with coding the Unreal engine, that is Tim Sweeny...

You realize cliffyb had shit-all to do with the unreal engine, right? He's a designer, not a programmer.

A fully charged phone with one # programmed and the Ubisoft logo on the backdrop. Now what?

Throw the phone off the balcony and lock yourself in the room forever, never to be heard from again.

What, this wasn't a "What do you want me to do" kinda thing?

One would think so.

But maybe he lied about why he left Epic?

I teeter on the edge of liking and disliking Ubisoft; having Cliff 'Gangsta-Boy' Blezinski would edge them a lot closer to permanent dislike for me. I want to believe that Ubisoft means it this time when they say no more always-on DRM, and I want to believe that Watchdogs will live up to the promise shown in its trailer. So I remain hopeful. But having this tool on their team would make it all the more difficult.
