I hope they keep making these. These games are just digital versions of the Lego play sets that also are based on various movies, books, comic book characters, etc. And, just like those play sets, they are a great way for parents and their kids to have fun together. I think folks that don't have kids lose sight of that. I'm an adult with no kids, and I enjoy them.
Same here. And I'm glad for that recent amazon sale with steam versions of the batman ones and the harry potter ones. I was hoping to have a steam sale on ALL the lego games, like bundle, but I haven't seen that happen in forever, and I dont think thats going to happen, probably because diff publishers have them. So I guess I'll just pick them up piece by piece as they go on a good sale. |

RollinThundr Apr 17, 2013, 12:25: Eh really tossing stuff like that in there only to get your panties all bunched up. If you really want to call that trolling sure.
Mr. Tact Apr 17, 2013, 12:33: Pretty sure that's the definition of trolling... |

I think folks that don't have kids lose sight of that. The video game medium allows for things that a play set obviously doesn't, and that is a good thing. They don't have to reinvent the wheel every time they make one of these games. Trying a few new things like they did with Batman 2: Justice League isn't so bad, but keeping them fun and creative should be the priority, just like the play sets. |

First thing I thought when I saw this was "didn't they do this already? Aren't there like a billion LEGO adventure games?"
And then, after searching my brain, I realize this is one of the few IPs that hasn't been lego-ized. |

WTB Sharkey I could give several reasons. The movies have already established a visual style that the game can mimick; they contain easily re-usable voice overs; they focused on the action-y bits and the ones that are more likely to appeal than the rather dreary ones from the books (I doubt there's many people aching for Tom Bombadil and the Old Forest gameplay, although the Barrow-Wight could be cool), and finally they are far more likely to be recognized in this day and age than the books.
However, those all have nothing to do with the real reason why, and that is that Warner Brothers has a license to turn the MOVIES into games, and does not have a license to do the same for the books. Ergo, Latin, they make games based on the movies.

WTB Sharkey Because the LEGO games are visual satire? |
