Black Ops II Disc Mix-up Reward

The BioWare Blog has a follow up to word that Mass Effect 2 discs were included in some copies of Call of Duty: Black Ops II. The first 50 users who can show this happened to their copies of the game, BioWare is offering the Mass Effect Trilogy: "If the universe thinks that you should be playing Mass Effect right now, who are we to argue? In fact, we want to help! The first fifty fans affected by this phenomenon to send us a picture holding their special disc 2 will receive a code for a FREE PC copy of Mass Effect Trilogy."

Obviously an image of the physical CD is no proof ;p But they do wittingly say "users who can show this happened to their copies of the game"

A simple photo does not show....

I agree with you. But the source article doesn't say that, it just says

If the universe thinks that you should be playing Mass Effect right now, who are we to argue? In fact, we want to help! The first fifty fans affected by this phenomenon to send us a picture holding their special disc 2 will receive a code for a FREE PC copy of Mass Effect Trilogy.

Remember, in order to qualify, YOU must be in the picture, and disc 2 of your Call of Duty: Black Ops II must be visible. Got it?

Should not Activision be in trouble for selling (even if it's just disk 2) someone else software?

I hope the FBI take them down like they did Megaupload!!

This would not happen if all software came on single 5 1/4 floppies.

>_>

It's most likely the fault of the CD pressing plant.

Cool move by Bioware.

I'm sure Bobby Cocktick will charge those affected 20 bucks to swap their discs out for a proper one. And they have to pay shipping both ways.

But it wasn't their fans..it was the COD fans no? I read this as simply taking advantage of Activision's problem. They, being EA, didn't have to give anybody anything at all and nobody would have said a thing. Now because they gave 50 people something they are assholes? I mean, don't get me wrong..EA is one big asshole...but I am hard pressed to find anything to criticize here.

You know, you're right. I forgot it was separate publishers. Totally my mistake - thanks for the correction.

Rescinding my last comment and changing it to 'it's hard to bag on EA for this one - they didn't have to do anything'.

If it were for everyone it affected I'd be impressed. The 'first 50' crap is just making a game out of it which is disrespectful for your fans who got screwed.

They felt sorry for the ppl who play this crap game, by giving them the 2nd disc of something they think is better. They couldnt bare to give you the 2nd disc of a game that would of bored you within seconds...

Yep, bribing people to like BioWare again WHILE getting valuable information as to the batch/location for where the mix-up occurred. Two birds, etc.

I thought the discs were printed correctly but just had the wrong data. How do the photos show the wrong disc? Is it a different paint job then the COD and the Mass Effect 2 games on the flub?
