A communist state has not existed in the whole lifetime of mankind. |

| And when you fast-forward 30-40 years to the present, third-world means impoverished crap-hole (or "developing nation" for the PC). |

Actually, China is a 2nd world country and will always be such as long as they are a communist 1 party dictatorship. Just like Russia, by the way (which is the same thing in different color, 1 party dictatorship).
The term "First World" refers to so called developed, capitalist, industrial countries, roughly, a bloc of countries aligned with the United States after World War II, with more or less common political and economic interests: North America, Western Europe, Japan and Australia.
"Second World" refers to the former communist-socialist, industrial states, (formerly the Eastern bloc, the territory and sphere of influence of the Union of Soviet Socialists Republic) today: Russia, Eastern Europe (e.g., Poland) and some of the Turk States (e.g., Kazakhstan) as well as China.
"Third World" are all the other countries...
Edit. removed code tags because they are making the text like. 6pt size.. So first world, is always Western Europe, Northern America, Japan, Australia.. and that's it. Africa will always be the 3rd world. China and Russia always 2nd world. Spheres of influence is what the "nr world" means. And Russia and China are their own sphere of influence, hence 2nd world.
Obviously if you are a communist you might reverse the order ;p
I am just throwing this in because I figured it might be interest ;p

And if weren't for the elites selling our futures out they'd still be a third world country right now. |
