Saw Skyfall today - as a casual Bond fan (not seen every one), I thought it was really good fucking awesome.

How about Joss Whedon to write and direct 7?

Fixed that for you.

WWZ looks like the remake of war of the worlds, right down to the little kids crying, screaming.

never read the book but this looks like a dud to me.

as for Star Wars I fear they'll try to model if after super hero movies too much, it'll end up like Force Unleashed times ten.

So, not a great pedigree for a dark & gritty Star Wars, but on the other hand look how shitty Prometheus was with "dark and mysterious" writer Lindelof. On the other other hand, maybe he's adopted Pixar's technique for honing and honing and honing until the story is very solid.

WWZ trailer looked interesting thought the FMV was distractingly bad.

Also bizarre seeing NY-style yellow cabs in Glasgow...

For awhile there, I was worried that they WOULDN'T be able to utterly ruin/disregard the original novel. Phew! WWZ may end up being an ok movie, but it apparently has nothing in common with the source material aside from the title. Figures.

Why did I read that in the Big Lebowski's voice?

I'd rather prefer somebody who could bring some more adult and dark tone to Star Wars. More character driven drama. Chris Nolan (Prestige, Inception, Insomina, the Dark Knight movies), or David Fincher (Se7en, Fight Club), or Alex Proyas (I, Robot, Dark City). But this won't happen, because the Neckless Beard won't allow any director he couldn't completely control to come near his (yes, STILL his) Star Wars. I've just watched an interview with Darth Luca$ and Kathleen Kennedy, and Luca$ is still in control of everything. This does not bode well for the sequels... http://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=player_embedded&v=EBuOHM51YdI
Most likely we'll end up with Rob Cohen or Brett Ratner as a director under Lucas' control.

Consoles? I owned two: a Pong clone and an Atari 2600. And that's it.

Well, I guess that already passed for most people. Yay for PST.
