I miss the old days too! So which game companies are the best these days for PCs/computers? CD Projekt. And I'll second the Square Enix / Eidos vote.
How about Valve Software? :) If they'd ever release something I'd care about, sure. I don't give a fuck about DOTA2, and I have no idea if they even have anything else lined up.

Square Enix springs to mind, as both SR3 and Deus Ex had capable pc ports. Gearbox spent some time making sure Borderlands 2 actually had some pc options. Hopefully they'll do the same for Aliens in the spring. How about Valve Software? |

If Mass Effect 3 had a terrible ending, that doesn't necessarily make the game bad. I never played it, so I can't judge. What sank Bioware for me was the one-two punch of a terrible rush-job cash-in Dragon Age sequel and an absolutely abysmal waste of what could have been a great singleplayer follow-up to a fantastic singleplayer series on the execrable "Star Wars The Old Republic".
I never thought I'd see the day, but I've now written off two of my most favorite developers of the past, Blizzard and Bioware. My how times have changed. |

On a related note (though still off topic) I went to school with a guy named 'Courtney Love.' Poor bastard. Everyone was cool to him though, I guess people figured he had it bad enough. Wow, I would expect daily beatings with a name like that. |
