Another reason to hate on MS, they purposely make their searches slow, non-holistic. It's all part of their hide and seek DRM initiative.
Try this and be amazed, it can't find anything on your pc in like one second. Like having local google.

How Has Windows Search Improved Since Win2k? Hint: It Hasn’t.
Win7 and Vista search never even work for me. I installed cygwin because doing a 'find / -name blah' was orders of magnitude faster. |
