AirMech Open Beta This Week

Carbon Games will launch open beta testing of AirMech this week, saying this should kick off on Steam on Thursday. They also announce perks players earn in the alpha and beta tests for the upcoming free-to-play action/RTS game will retained when the game goes live: "I hate playing Betas myself because they always wipe your accounts when they leave Beta," says James Green, project Director. "So since I get to make the rules now, I say no wipes--no resets. You found a bug and exploited it for personal gain? Awesome, letting you keep your stuff is the least we can do for everyone helping us test."

Wow. Thanks for saving me the time of even bothering to look at your game.

There are no traditional buffs in airmech. The HP and levels reset every game. So nothing carries over. The bugs they are talking about relate entirely to experience which unlocks items for use.

In Airmechs case any 'exploit' related to earned points doesn't matter since Airmech is not an RPG it is an action game.

The game is pretty fun, I played it months ago (it's been openly available using Chrome for almost a year). Very fast, multiplayer version of Herzog Zwei. Oddly has no gamepad support, altho that was months ago.

Their last album Improvised Electronic Device was particularly good, imo.

I keep hearing that. Might toss that one my xmas list.

I really enjoyed the noiseunit albums with Rhys, esp Decoder and Drill.

I'm just interested in the Front Line Assembly soundtrack.. it's sounding pretty sharp as well..

I haven't listened to FLA much since Flavour of the Weak (which I did love), but I have to admit, that sounds good. Any mention of a soundtrack edition on Steam?

edit: Damn, now I gotta break that out...

It looks really sharp. I just wish there was more to the SP.
