Just an extra layer with zero value. Maybe it'll change, but it's dumb right now.
I agree, too, with whomever mentioned that these should be available in-game. Maybe incredibly rare and hard to get, but available. Someone playing this 10 years from now won't have these code opportunities, though I expect they'll release 10 or so permanent codes, and there are almost definitely people not using the internet much wondering what the hell that stupid, very tempting chest is for.
I have 7 codes now. Had 1, then put in 2 codes and had 5. Not sure how. My buddy did exactly what I did and has 6. The math doesn't add up for either of us. 1 + 4 codes = 7 for me, 6 for him. Same codes. No clue what that's about. |

Unlink your Steam account on the Shift website. Then launch the game and go to the Shift option in the menu where it will ask you to sign in to Shift with your credentials. Do that and you should get your key. There's no real point of having your Steam account linked to Shift at this time. |

I've barely touched TVHM yet, the game wore on my patience quickly and the drop rates got frustrating. Not sure I'll go back until a few more DLCs come out and my group gets the urge, I was doing a lot of solo play there towards the end as they didn't like the game as much as I did. Do you remember what the slot was? Triple Vault symbol? Triple Marcus? I've yet to land a single one of those, and I've spent a good half a million on those damn slots... (I wish there was a badass stat for that!)
I'm getting back to TVHM with turret guy. I'm assuming two turrets with rockets will work in it. And I have to admit that giving my ninja Law and Order made a shitload of a difference (even though I now have 1300 shield in TVHM )
Creston The slag turret is the better choice, unless you have a really, really good slag gun that you don't see yourself ever selling away. The rockets alone count as a different source of damage, as do, of course, your own guns. Switching from double turrets to the slag turret made TVHM easier than my first playthrough. If you have elemental weapons for any enemy type, it's even more game-breaking. It honestly makes me wonder why they ever bothered billing Gaige as the character to play for n00bs. |

Vault symbols are orange, Marcus heads are purple, Moxxi legs are blue, cherries are green, 7's are skins, and two out of three anything is either money or white loot. And of course Bandit heads are BOOM.
I really wish they'd include a casino room or something in one of the DLCs, with like a dozen slot machines right in the same little area. Takes a long, long time to spend my millions on two machines at 13.5k a pop... And I actually have never gotten an orange from them. |

And I agree with Verno. Getting up at 5am for a twitter seems rather crazy when you could give yourself 5 Golden Keys (or 255 if you're so enclined) in the space of about 20 seconds.
And yes, it's perfectly safe. It's just a locally stored variable.

In all actuality, they should have made these keys randomly drop from kills. Sitting around pining and waiting for Randy to toss out a few codes is utter crap. Which is why I went to the trainer. Go to Gamecopyworld.com and download it there. The best version to use is the one made by Fling. It’s the best one. It will probably complain about it being out of date. But it will still work. In game press f-11 and bling, 100 keys.
I don’t consider this cheating either out of every 50 keys I have used. I may get 8 good items from the box. Since the odds are so stacked against you at getting a good item the trainer is a good thing. |

You can download CheatEngine and one of the premade Borderlands 2 tables or find the memory address yourself. Alternatively just hit up CheatHappens and pay the money if you're too lazy but I think that's a silly waste. Then give yourself a key whenever you feel you deserve it instead of having to follow twitter and other silly nonsense.
People claim its cheating but I don't see how its any more cheating than getting magical key codes out of thin air from Fairy Pitchford. Ultimately there is no method of obtaining them in-game which was a big oversight. The chest isn't all that wonderful anyway, its best used for filling out gaps where you haven't obtained a decent weapon in several levels and are underpowered. I got better loot with the slots.
Also to head it off at the pass, it's perfectly safe and there is nothing Gearbox can do about it. It's not a server side multiplayer game, they can't ban you from MP and you have local copies of your profile and save (which you should backup anyway because the game has had some corruption issues). Personally I think people are better off just playing the slots in-game as opposed to wasting time on twitter or using cheatengine but hey, whatever floats your boat.
