That has some info that says how to run it on vista/win 7. I haven't tried it, but it sounds like it would work, I remember the cardid file for the graphics cards.
Also, as I recall, muckyfoot released some extra files for it before they died, I can't recall what they were, extra scenarios? Mods? I dunno. |

Oh, heavens, Startopia. We absolutely ADORED that game in this household. Part of me would love to see a sequel or remake; another part of me dreads a sequel or remake. It's not that it was the finest game ever made; it was just a lot of fun. That the entire family enjoyed it probably helped as our individual enjoyment was further fed by that of each other family member. |

Yup, developed by Muckyfoot. Their first, last and only game. It works great under Windows XP if you have some fairly old hardware laying around.
Unfortunately, it absolutely will not play under Win 7 or on modern video cards.
Edit: They actually did three games. Urban Chaos, Startopia and Blade II.

Yes we do.
I think Star Citizen is as close as we're gonna get to it for awhile. If they follow through with the private servers that support modding though, you could actually have a Firefly class ship and crew it with your friends.
They've also mentioned it will be possible to upgrade your cargo hold to make it unscannable to police vessels, meaning that there will very likely be contraband to trade in. I know Privateer had that feature too... oh man I ran so many guns and drugs from the secret pirate base... |
