New AMD Drivers

AMD Support & Drivers now offers two new releases: New version 12.10 drivers for AMD and ATI graphics cards, certified by Microsoft as "compatible with Windows 8." They also now offer the new version 12.11 beta drivers featured in a bunch of previews earlier today. The beta drivers boast the impressive performance improvements for 7000 series accelerators.

Ditto. Competitions are good. I will be sad when AMD goes away.

Every time I use a system with an AMD/ATI configuration it under performs and is less stable than an Intel/Nvidia system.

I've built many AMD based systems and many Nvidia based systems, there is generally little or no difference. The odd time you run into a port where performance is crappier due to the devs being paid off or just not testing on AMD hardware. Saints Row the Third was the only recent exception I've seen, it just performed worse on AMD cards despite being sponsored by AMD. AMD does however have terrible OpenGL drivers.

I always just buy bang for buck, brand loyalty is pointless when product quality differs so greatly between iterations.

I always wonder why that is. I've not had any issues with ATI/AMD since Windows 7 was first released. Back then Dirt 2 crashed pretty hard until the next driver release fixed it.

Apart from killing Dishonored when attempting to load a saved game the beta drivers aren't really doing anything noticeable.

Unless you own anything less than a HD 5000 which they refuse to update anymore.
