Not to speak for creston, but if I were to guess, his hesitation might be due to the device needing to send/receive both input and video. Which we can stream video now, but it's not interactive.
Just a guess, and I have no idea if the nintendo can handle it w/o lag. I will say I use a wireless 360 controller on both the pc and 360, and have never noticed input lag. But I wasn't streaming video to it, as well...

Mr. Tact wrote on Oct 15, 2012, 15:13: Why not? You think WAPs don't respond in under 1/60th of a second? To a simple ping, which is in essence just a bounce? Barely. For a console to transmit a stream and for that stream to be re-rendered on your controller, all in the space of 1/60th of a second?
I'm going to say Michael Ancera is either on the Nintendo Pep Squad, or he needs to stop smoking his mattress.

Wow... that's pretty ancient. I remember the moon clips and switch box for the Atari and having to use a phillips to screw it in, I believe they had them for the NES and the Genesis too, but by that point it was coax with RCA ports. Like this? http://www.vintagecomputing.com/wp-content/tvswitch_2_large.jpg That's it! The switch to coax and then RCA was a big jump. I had that. |

Combat, Bowling, Frogger, Adventure, Superman (man I loved superman), Warlords, Pitfall - played these games so much as a youngin. I'm just 1 year older than you Prez!
And holy shit did I ply the crap outta Kaboom! Second only to pitfall.
Still have every system that meant something to me -- the atari 2600, ti99, c64, amiga500.
Anyone remember cutting the 2nd notch outta your c64 disks to get double the space? Haha I even have my old notcher I actually bought for it! |

Yeah I feel pretty old too, awesome memories though. I had completely forgotten about Star Ranger! At that age I could only win the first rank. My fave games were:
Chopper Command (side scrolling like Defender) Spike's Peak (on a double cartridge with Haunted House at the other end!) Some Star Wars game (forgot the name, again like Defender, you were the speeders versus the ATATs on Hoth) Adventure (with the 3 dragons, the keys and mazes)
Also I had a fascination with that Indiana Jones puzzle game that was almost impenetrable due to obscure puzzles and lack of hints. In fact there was almost no text at all! I bought that used and without instructions, consequently I didn't get very far. Accessibility hadn't been discovered yet! |

| Well he says what is displayed on the controller is "one frame late" compared to what's on the TV, both running 60 FPS. That's pretty crazy fast, 'cause you have to think that the video stream would be even slower to transmit than the input commands, right? |
