Blizzard Books Seminar Mentions WoW Patch Plans

Blizzplanet has a trailer from the New York Comic Con where Blizzard Entertainment participated in a panel about supporting their various games with literature, discussing plans for two novels: World of Warcraft: Vol男in, Shadows of the Horde by Michael Stackpole in April 2013 and StarCraft II: Flashpoint by Christie Golden on November 6th, and two ebooks: World of Warcraft: Dawn of the Aspects by Richard A. Knaak on January 15th, 2013 (part one of four) and an anthology of Diablo III short stories called Diablo III: Heroes Rise, Darkness Falls. There is also a little to be found there on plans for upcoming version 5.1 and 5.2 patches for World of Warcraft:

World of Warcraft: Vol男in, Shadows of the Horde by Michael Stackpole will be published on April 2013.

The upcoming World of Warcraft patch 5.1 will focus a lot on the book痴 plot. Players will meet Vol男in throughout Pandaria in patch 5.1. He wants to dispense indiscriminate justice against Garrosh. He値l make sure to be behind his downfall. In the novel, Vol男in will have few contemplative moments at a Pandaria monastery, learning wisdom from the Pandaren.

The novel痴 main characters are Vol男in and Chen Stormstout.

We were told Vol男in will be featured on patch 5.2 too. The developers are hard at work on a new Vol男in NPC model and new Zandalari troll models in patch 5.1.

Thought everyone hated Knaak?

Really? I think he's pretty good. He wrote one series (about grey something or other) that was awfully boring, but I like most of his other stuff. Admittedly I haven't read him in yonks, so maybe he's gone downhill.

In any case, Stackpole is fantastic and anyone who doesn't agree can go suck on the Death Star laser!

I wouldn't say excellent, but pretty good at making a good story out of someone else's work, far better than fanfic quality. I guess they're excellent for licensed content.

Well, at least they're getting excellent authors. Stackpole and Knaak are awesome.
