The RMAH screwed up Diablo III. With such patches, all they do is give more to already godly equipped people.
If the RMAH wasn't there, those kind of patches would have worked pretty well with an economy reset. But now that people have paid real money for items, reset will never occur so the richest will get richier, will be able to find loot much easier and sell and make money out of this game, while some of the poorer will get bored and either quit or pay real money to buy items trying to cope with the game and will realize they have to invest too much and get frustrated.
This is no secret why Diablo II ladder resets are popular.
