Valve Play Testing

Valve announces they are looking to get some gamers up to their Bellevue, Washington offices to play test games and hardware prototypes. They offer a Valve Playtester Survey, and say they may be looking for testers from outside their immediate area, as well (thanks Develop). Here's word:

We're looking for folks to come to Valve and playtest both released and unreleased versions of our games as well as play around with some of our hardware prototypes. If you have interest in stopping by (most sessions last around an hour), please fill out the survey below. We're looking for people local to the Seattle/Bellevue area, but you're welcome to fill out the survey no matter where you live as we may have plans for remote playtests in the future.

Thanks for your interest in helping us make better products!

UPDATE:

We are looking to add international support in the future. For now though, playtesting will be US only.

West of House
You are standing in an open field west of a white house, with a boarded front door.
There is a crowbar here.

I'll be signing up, Dallas has enough people and a gaming school or two, they might come down. I did something similar with Gearbox a couple of years ago, and got invited to their HQ to playtest this new game there were developing called "Borderlands".

I like the motion sick part.

I have HORRIBLE motion sickness problems. To the point I can barely be a passenger in a car. If I read anything its instant puke city. Don't even get me started on boats and airplanes.

BUT

No computer game (PC or console) has EVER made me motion sick. Even with the bulshit FOV's these asshat developers are forcing on us on these horrible PC ports. Bad FOV only pisses me off. It does not make me sick.

I'll move to Washington if it means I can play test Left 4 Dead 3 before I become a senior citizen.

They've decided to go in a bit of a different direction with that. It's now a text adventure, and you start just west of a white house.

Damn, wish I was still in Vancouver. I'd totally drive down for a chance to see the Valve offices.

James Woods: Oh that's fun. That sounds like you had a fun time. Where would I fit in with the fun time, huh? Where does James Woods fit into the fun?

I wonder if Valve is working on a of playing PC games without the need for a Microsoft OS. A real console catered to the PC gamer.
