That Command & Conquer title is going to be absolute horseshit, and will further shit over the once-proud Bioware name, but I'm still holding out some SMALL hope for DA3. The Inquisition title (and subsequent hope that you play as a templar hunting down mages) at least makes me thing the story will be good.

(social, mobile, FTP!) I agree, File Transfer Protocol is the future of gaming.

"When 90% of the industry is saying the exact same thing (social, mobile, FTP!) a huge number of people are going to lose that race." I remember when a LOT of studios and devs said Goodbye to the PC and left for greener console pastures, because everyone and their mother said that the PC was dead and console gaming was TEH FUTURE. Some of them still exist or even make console games. Most of them were laid off, closed the doors for good or are starting to make crowdfunded games for the PC.
There is still a huge hype about browser games, where you only get venture capital when you agree to make a browser social facebook thingy. And my dentist (!) lost a million he invested in some stupid MMO project at the height of the MMO hysteria a few years ago.
Yes, indeed. When 90% of the industry says: "Do that!" ... dont do that. Do other things, but not THAT! |

Bummer. I'm afraid this will hinder the production of "The Old Republic II: The Clone Wars". And what about that expansions "The Story of Darth Jar Jar" and "The Rise and Fall of the Neckless Bearded Emperor"? But TOR will be a huge success. Remember, multiplayer is where it's at. ActiBlizz just said that. TOR will be HUGE. The Diablo III makers know what they're talking about, right? |

| Consoles? I owned two: a Pong clone and an Atari 2600. And that's it. |

I can't shake the feeling that EA would rather shut down this MMO completely before they let it go F2P.
Even that free trial thing they offered up to level 15 was a badly implemented feature. You have to start a new account and I think it ends after 14 days? I was hoping to get back into the game just to see what had changed and maybe start a few new characters and run them up to 15.
But noooo, no we can't let just anyone play to 15! They're just so disconnected from reality. They're like a car manufacturer that doesn't drive. They live in a world with teleporters and hover boards or some shit like that and they're trying to build cars for people drive. It's all so predicatable to see what is going on at bioware. Nothing is going to get better. The total dollars paid out by EA to the staff at bioware will likely take a huge step down so they'll see this as a win and they'll make more money on their games in the future!
Yeah...I'm sure that is going to happen.
