Out of the Blue

Creston and I tied for last at 9-6 picking the NFL games last week (I'm going to give him the Broncos since he mentioned Manning in picking the Colts, who didn't actually play), and Jivaro and Mag did us one better at 10-5. But hats off to Cutter, who returned to dominance by going 12-3. Here's what my dartboard and I came up with for this week: Cardinals, Dolphins, Packers, Ravens, Giants, Steelers, Falcons, Seahawks, Bears, Vikings, Patriots, 49ers, Chargers, Texans.

As for the triple crown not getting the attention it deserves, it's because quite a lot of fans are (grudgingly) starting to realize that batting average and RsBI are fairly pointless statistics. They're fun to look at in a glance, but people (even the mongrels at the BBWAA) are slowly coming to accept that there are much better statistics that tell you much more about how good and how valuable a player really is.

That said, it is still a pretty tremendous achievement, and I applaud it.

Wife won our family bowl this week with 13! I had a lame 9.

Picks for the week:
STL tonight for an underdog league.
GB, Bal, Cin, Pit, Was, NYG, SEA, Chi, NE, SF, MN, SD, Hou.

The MN game worries me. I will let you know how it goes from my 3rd row season tickets behind the bench!

That reminds of that season when Bill Simmons picked against his wife (against the spread), and she quite handily beat his ass even though she just picked based on what names she liked and whether she liked their team uniforms, etc.

As for your tickets behind the bench, I hate you!

Ugh, sorry about the Colts snafu. It's Manning, dammit! He plays for the Colts! It's even a horse, like a Bronco! (SSSHHHH!!!!)

I'll try to be less dumb... Emphasis on TRY.

Cardinals, Dolphins, Packers, Ravens, Falcons, Giants, Steelers, Seahawks, Bears, Vikings, Broncos (See?! SEE! I GOT IT RIGHT! CUT THAT MEAT! CUT THAT MEAT!), 49'ers, Saints, Texans.

14-0. Take it to the bank, baby!
