DICE Warns of Bans for BF3 Color Mod

PC Gamer notes that DICE's Gustav Halling tweets his disapproval of a modification for Battlefield 3 that adds a little more color to the arguably drab environments in DICE's military shooter sequel. In addition to expressing the opinion that it is "to [sic] colorful," the Battlefield 3 gameplay designer also warns that this could get players permanently banned, adding "The hack is not only a 'brightness modifier', its a proper cheat." The game looks better with the mod. It looks a lot better. I was ready to go install it and play it again if it looked like that then DICE comes out and says they'll ban you for using that?

Diablo 3 is too bright and colorful, Battlefield 3 is too dark and gritty.

The difference between the mod and the actual game is astounding as well. Some of the areas in the game WITHOUT Dice's stupid ass filter on actually look like real locations.

I'm not sure which is funnier, that DICE thinks people are worried about getting caught cheating in BF3, or that they finally think they are going after cheating by banning people who change the colour.
