I didn't invent the term 'sexual preference', but it obviously applies equally to a person who prefers a partner of the same sex, so get over it.
Preference implies a choice. You can't choose whom you are sexually attracted to. You are using a term that is incorrect. Perhaps you should re-educate yourself in the correct terms if you wish to communicate effectively?

My point is that GLBT are perfectly welcome at any existing gamer con's to make themselves separate is unnecessary and smacks of 'look at me, I'm different'.
Newsflash, we're ALL different.
Of course they are welcomed in an open society, however there is a lack of inclusion for female and homosexual gamers. Places like E3 cater to the view that gamers are single, male and like tits everywhere. The casual usage of derogatory terms like "fag" or "homo" aren't welcoming, the people that use those terms go to these events.

There is a reason why ladies prefer to go to gay clubs and stay away from the standard clubs. They aren't harassed by men. I'm sure they will feel more comfortable around homosexual men at a gaymer conference.

It's going to make people feel better about themselves and safe. Why do you have a problem with that?

Men have their own groups. Women have their own groups. Religious groups have their own groups. Homosexuals have their own groups. It's human nature to split into groups (see any party, any country, any group of human beings). We can all still get along, doesn't mean we all have to do or like the same things.

That's what's wrong, they want to be separate from the rest of the world when we straight types never excluded them to begin with.
Who cares about the real-life sexual preferences of someone you don't really know and only play against as equals in a virtual world?
You want to bring the gay debate into gaming, how about raising the color issue too?
We're not the divisive ones, if other people want to believe they're a 'downtrodden minority' it's all in their heads, not mine.

Really? So them not being able to marry is just a joke right? No one is really excluding them? And gay bashing and using gay related names as bigoted slurs is all just a silly misunderstanding is that it? Well, someone needs to tell the NAACP they need to disband because according to you the only problems they have are all in their head. Same with every other similar group. Yes, it's simply all in their imagination.

Fwiw, I was engaged to a bi female for months and have gays in my immediate family and gay friends and care for them all as much as the straight ones.

When did they say you weren't invited to Gaymercon?

It isn't a "preference".

Just because you're ignorant to your own form of oppressive comments, doesn't mean they aren't clearly happening before your eyes. Wake the f*ck up!
