I'm just whip-shy from all the JA reboots, the 2 originals from Sir-Tech are easily in my top 5 game list. The rest, eh.
I just downloaded the demo of X-Com. I shall judge for myself. |

I think Pyloff meant the fact that it's a remake with less content than the original, even though I don't agree with that. I was never convinced by the remake of Jagged Alliance, but I'm convinced enough by XCOM to have pre-ordered, even though I only did it because I got it heavily discounted |

The remake of xcom has turn based combat. Plan and Go is the opposite. It pauses and you give orders, but enemies continue to move during your execution phase.
In XCOM enemies do NOT move during your execution phase, only during THEIRS (Where you can then get Interrupts, although aliens can too).
So the remake of xcom is nothing at all like this. |

| Plan 'n Go wasn't the problem, and I don't think experimentation with an established gamestyle is a bad thing. But yeah, this game falls far short of the original games, and that's because of the delivery. A remake should never have LESS content than the game it is supposedly updating. This one just felt like a cheap knock-off with updated graphics. I'm guessing that however ambitious their original plan was for the game, they ended up settling for a "kind of JA" type of game. |

| To think they have the gall to call this Jagged Alliance... another great game IP destroyed by developers who have no god damn clue what they are doing. Plan'n'Go is a travesty to the Jagged Alliance name and feel. |

Uh, is this story a typo/misprint? I've had Crossfire, at least the Steam version, for about a month now.
Or is this some sort of standalone no-steam version?
*EDIT* Typo. Also, I am in North America.
*EDIT* Oh yeah, boxed version.
