Wait a minute? The NHL is doing a lockout again? Didn't they just do that like two years ago?
Holy shit, it was 8 years ago. HAHA! I am so damn old, the years fly by now. |

They play in the toughest division IMO. Every single team has a Top 10 defense. Hell, last year I think all 4 teams were in the top 5 at one point. The only reason Baltimore and Pittsburgh keep taking the division every year is because they have enough firepower on offense to come from behind in a hurry late in a game. If Cincy and Cleveland can mature their young offenses to be that stable and explosive that division would get whole lot less predictable. They have the talent, IMO, but they are young ATM. |

Owners want a significant rollback of their salaries...after teams spent the last few years signing players to long-term, ridiculous $100m+ contracts.
Don't get me wrong, there's definitely greed on both sides...but I wouldn't be happy taking a huge paycut just because the owners screwed up on the last CBA.
In the end, the fans are the only ones worth feeling sorry for.
Edit: not to mention the increase in average ticket prices they promised wouldn't happen during the last CBA negotiation (terrible around me, for sure), and the huge pay increase Bettman's seen since the last CBA.

You'd think that something like this would be tried first on the east coast though, where the ground is much more stable. California just seems too unstable to develop such a system having multiple major fault lines running through it. a vacuum along a thousand miles of tubing? unlikely. i think more likely he found a way to move air through the tube at that speed with reasonable safety, then you just drop a pod into the stream and whoof! off you go.

Samsung 40 inch tv went down, was "clicking" when it turned on and would take over a minute to continue clicking and then finally turn on. Looked it up, Samsung used crappy parts and offered a 1x replacement on those parts for free.
Called them 2 days ago. Guy came out today, took about 20 minutes to swap out some capacitors. BOOM. Just like new. 2 of the 5 were bulging and bad. Said the other 2 would have only lasted another year. Right on Samsung. Had my LCD monitor go down last year, same deal, they replaced that for free as well.
Very happy with their service. |

Yeah, there were just a few games that were upsets last week. There were about 3 or 4 I was totally waffling on knowing they could go either way - same every week really - but stuff like the 49'ers, Saints, and Packers losing virtual locks are always a surprise. More tough calls to be made this week so let's go with...
Ravens, 49'ers, Rams, Falcons, Chargers, Titans, Pats, Jaguars, Broncos, Cardinals, Redskins, Packers, Eagles, Bears, Lions (if Stafford is back). |
