"Hard Drive Space: 17 GB"

That's 34 times larger than the Windows XP operating system!!

Can you say "unoptimised, lazy console port?"

You're comparing the size of a AAA game released today to a bare-bones (content wise) operating system released more than 10 years ago?

Then you compare the size of the game to how much compressed video you could store in that same space. FYI, 16 GB gives you something like 30 minutes of 1080p video if you want to do a semi-accurate comparison.

I'd suggest you just get used to the fact that your awesome PC is going to be obsolete after a few years. Or forget about playing modern PC games, console port or not.

If you break this down, does this mean anything?

NVIDIA GeForce 8600 GT / 9 / 100 / 200 / 300 / 400 / 500 / 600 series or better

Ok I get the 8600, but what are the rest of the categories equivalents to the 8600? It can't be an 8600 and then any other card in any of those other series, there are many cards < an 8600.

I guess its a casual/dumb down version of Demon's Souls/Dark Souls

It caters to the middle eastern populace, go to any Futureshop, and when this game is on demo, you will always see people from that background playing this game. There is a market niche for most any game, can't please em all. Like MoP, 3 Billion copies sold in Asia from day 1.

not being racist, nor stereotypical, its business today.

You play your game and leave others in peace to play theirs.

Did I miss something?

I'm not seeing that either? Maybe Blue mistyped and corrected it?

I bet they spend at least a week longer on the DRM than they did developing the PC version.

Two series of any TV programme would only take 16GB and provide 48 hours of entertainment, for less money. Without requiring UbiSoft to keep their website working. Plus they'll have replay value...

I'll pass.

8gb's of RAM?! I'm sorry, kiss my ass what?!

No game made yet NEEDS 8gb of RAM and if this is the first, it SCREAMS, to me at least, of shoddy programming. I don't understand that at all. None of the consoles come anywhere near that amount...

The 17GB HDD spae is not too bad... is this gonna ship on 3-4 discs?

I never see games needing 8GB of RAM. Is it worth it to get 8GB for anything?

Also "Peripherals Supported: Windows-compatible keyboard, mouse, optional controller (Xbox 360 Controller for Windows recommended)" I hope it has good keyboard & mouse!

An incompetent schlub wrote this list, that's what it is. All of the "supported" video cards listed there are DX10 or better, though they are technically DX9 compliant, if you want to look at it that way, lol. If SM4.0 is indeed a requirement, though, that means they definitely did extra work on PC version, since none of the consoles support that.
I guess we'll find out once the game is released, but the fact that SM4.0 is specifically listed as a requirement makes me believe that this is in fact a DX10/D3D10 game.

Games can be written to use DX11 as the API for 3D rendering, but still support DX9-class hardware.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Direct3D#Direct3D_11

It is the natural choice when XP compatibility is no longer a concern.

I thought Ubisoft said that AC3 would have DX11 support? Maybe that was just a lie. That said, isn't SM4.0 a DX10/11 exclusive? If so, these requirements are a bit misleading.

It's the same with the new Xcom, dx9 but does not work with XP.

...so it requires Vista minimum but DX9 minimum video card?
Why would they not market this to XP users?
