Out of the Blue

Today is Yom Kippur, which began at sundown last night. This is a day of atonement, so "happy" Yom Kippur is not appropriate: I think the proper sentiment is to wish all of you commemorating this a good an easy fast. While this is not my holiday, I'm sure I have some atoning to do, so I'll try to keep this in mind along the way.

This is very good news... My next car might be Tesla.

Another step- how many stations? How many outlets per station? Where are they? How much do they cost? What if it's raining?

I get the feeling unless you're living or working in a high rise in San Diego and just happen to have an odd hour lunch break where you sit and watch your car recharge this isn't going to happen soon.

Get 150 miles off of a 220V outlet in 30 minutes and you've got something real- even if it's a supercharge station you leave in your garage. After all this is just some kind of high efficiency capacitor.

As soon as it's economical I want to get an EV though and then a vanity plate that reads COALPWRD.

Don't worry fellow canucks, the governments strategic bacon reserve is fully operational and prepared for emergencies.

Also you can have my share, never liked the stuff.

Canadian Bacon is NOT BACON. It's Ham, and crappy ham at that!

It's not cured bacon but it's still ham. Heh. And it's good stuff.

Boy do I have a movie for you! Just last night my son queued up "God Bless America" on Netflix. Maybe it says something about me as a person but during the whole movie I was grinning and cheering. Anyone who found themselves nodding their heads to Porn-O's post, haa a black sense of humor, and has Netflix needs to watch this movie tonight!

I don't care if it costs $10 per package, I need my bacon fix for weekend breakfast

Yeah, it's quite disturbing to see these reports of how the drought is going to make so many things so incredibly much more expensive...

Of course, Obama could just repeal the Ethanol mandate, but then gas goes up. (It should go up by about 35 cents, but I guarantee the oil companies will manage to turn that into a buck fifty price hike.)

The BETTER thing to do would be to invest the hundreds of billions of dollars required to create proper irrigation systems for the corn belt, but doing the better and long-term thing always seems to elude the US, for some reason. (Keep putting those power poles above the ground, fellas! It's not as if tornadoes and thunderstorms take them out at a rate of a few dozen a day!)

Creston

Obama has already said he likes high gas prices, helps push his green agenda and ideas for creating things like carbon taxes for the manufactored global warming schtick the libs have going for themselves.

This is not even worth discussing until children can drive themselves to the fast-food restaurants.

That being said, I'm finding the whole notion of advertising increasing more silly as I get older. I don't think I'm unique in that I only buy something when I need it, and I don't shop brands, I buy based on value proposition. But, maybe I am. TV commercials any more fall into one of two buckets; entertainment or annoyance. I rarely even remember the product.

Can't remember the last time I had it or any red meat especially after the China Study.

I know it sucks but sustainability comes first, second as chemical free as possible (arsenic, pcbs and pesticides especially) and finally what we want comes last.
