Orcs Must Die! 2 Booster Pack Tomorrow

Robot Entertainment announces a new Family Ties booster pack for Orcs Must Die! 2, saying this will be released tomorrow for the Steam edition of the action/strategy sequel. They promise a live-stream showing off what this brings to the game today at 1:00 pm EDT on Fryedegg's Twitch TV channel. If you think an orc's mace and chain are scary, wait until you encounter his ball and chain:

Robot Entertainment today announced “Family Ties,” the second booster pack for Orcs Must Die! 2. There’s an old saying beyond the rifts that says, “Behind every bumbling male orc army, there’s a huge, enraged female orc wielding a giant mace.” You’ve already repelled tens of thousands of orcs, and now the old Ball and Chain is stepping in to take over where the thousands have failed so miserably. The new booster pack features three brand new levels and three new Endless Mode conversions that can be played in single-player or with a friend in co-op. Players will also unlock new weapons and trinkets to strike fear into the hearts of their new enemies!

Robot Entertainment will be joining two of their most prolific Orcs Must Die! 2 live-stream players for a special stream of the new booster pack content today, September 25th, at 10am PDT. Join the live stream to get your first glimpse at the new content and ask questions about the game tomorrow:

The “Family Ties” booster pack for Orcs Must Die! 2 will be available on Steam for $4.99 on September 26th.

Family Ties Booster Pack Features:

  • Three Exciting New Levels – The entire orc family is coming to visit in three completely new levels! Jump into single-player or co-op to defend Triple Threat, Breakneck Triad, and Rush Hour.
  • New Endless Mode Conversions – Empowered by the Ball and Chain, the orcs just keep coming! Defend the rifts in three harrowing new Endless Mode conversions - Breakneck Triad, Stairs of Doom, and Servant Entrance.
  • Amazing New Weapons – Master the powers of the Earth to turn enemies to stone with the new Stone Staff. Become the master of your domain with the Teleportation Ring that lets you decide when and where you want to teleport across a level!
  • A Terrifying New Trinket – Strike fear into your enemies with the mysterious Jar of Ghosts! Pop the top to release a spectral fear image that sends your enemies running home with their tails tucked between their legs!
  • The Most Frightening Enemy Yet – Come face-to-mace with the menacing new Ball and Chain, an enormous female Orc wielding a powerful mace that’s bigger than you are! Keep a sharp eye out for her consorts, the Hobgoblin Healers!
  • New Character Costumes! – Show the Ball and Chain that this isn’t your first fight by suiting up in these fashionable new orc-skin costumes for the War Mage and Sorceress.
  • New Bonus Skull Definition – Not the magic type? Now there’s a skull reward just for you. If you can make it through a level without using a single drop of your mana, you’ll toss a “Zero Mana Use” bonus skull atop your pile of spoils!

I'm also waiting for the GOTY edition. OMD 1 was a good game, and it seems OMD 2 is even better, but I've got FAR too many games waiting on my Steam list. I haven't even touched Fallout: New Vegas yet or Deus EX: HR. All that gaming goodness... And I'm busy playing TL2 and GW2 atm. Too many games, too little time to spare.
Consoles? I owned two: a Pong clone and an Atari 2600. And that's it.

Hi, I find it hard to justify DLC for OMD2 as I cant see how can I get more slots for traps and weapons (I currently have 6 and have beaten the game with my wife on Mage [normal] difficulty). The game is getting tedious and boring with only 6 slots. 6 slots is all you can get? If not, how can we get more?

Not sure how it works in co-op, but in single player you get way more than that by the time you advance through. Perhaps in co-op they limit you so that it isn't too easy.

I'd love a true sandbox mode, where you have access to all your unlocked traps (perhaps weapons, perhaps not trinkets) and the ramp is much slower than it is in Endless, or you start with far more gold, so you can be devious and then watch body parts fly.

How dare they release expansions to the game?

This is an outrage!

Seriously, though. While I'll be waiting for it all to go on sale, I don't begrudge the people that buy this stuff up early. That seems a little silly to me. Why is it that people buying content for their game and supporting the developers is a bad thing?

DLC is a plague on gaming.

As a consumer all it does is make me amiably wait for the "combined edition" down the road.

I guess I am not the type of consumer gaming companies want
