| i turn off data on my phone unless I need to use it. Makes a biggggg difference with your quota since many phone apps like to use data for no apparent good reason. |

That kinda makes sense and would explain my situation. I have used two different data-tracking apps/tweaks on my phone and they always show less data usage than AT&T. I wish there was a way to prove that they overcharge and go after them for it.
I wonder how they disguised the data as DNS requests... |
