Can't a person not like what the project evolved into? Or am I supposed to kiss their ass for actually getting something out? (Although still incomplete) |

Creston Yeah same, time for a break from Guild Wars 2. Oh and Borderlands 2 preloads just started (only 4.5GB right now), restart Steam! GMG keys have been going out since this morning. They have been? They said in the email that I got after purchasing Borderlands 2 that the keys weren't going out until release day, where's my key dammit! |

Very well done, considering this is from the community. I was a bit afraid when the announced it was a "re-imagining" rather than a direct port, but so far my fears have been unwarranted. Someone had complained earlier about the voice acting and you know what? They could have done a LOT worse.
If I've got any complaints, it's that the crowbar animation leaves a bit to be desired. Instead of swinging it, I feel like I'm tapping with it. Perfect if I'm going to be rapping on a door to be let in, but not for combat. Also, (and how could they forget this??) where are the infamous klaxons? Unforseen Consequences started and all we get is a standard fire bell? BOO!!!! |

Downloading at the moment, but am still confused on the qualitative/quantitative differences between Black Mesa and Half-Life Source...? Like, for instance, what makes this better than HL Source? Half-Life Source is just the same HL game but ported to a newer engine. (same textures, maps, environments, etc..) Except for the underlying engine there is no difference between HL and HL:S.
Black Mesa however is a complete remake (re-imagining?) of Half Life. The modders basically re-made HL from scratch. They made new models, new maps, new textures and added certain creative liberties (like there is a new window and office in the short hallway where Barney lets you in right after you get off the opening tram ride) so while it's not exactly the same, it's close enough. |

I want to have the bugs fixed and Xen levels added to complete the game so I don't have to replay it in the future. |

I had high expectations for this and somehow it managed to live up to them. The graphics are excellent, the gameplay changes mean it plays like a modern game, the level design is subtly different yet still familiar and the AI is decent. As a fan of the original I'm very impressed with how they've handled the update.
Here are a few screenshots I took earlier:

http://www.nbc.com/revolution/video/pilot/1415378 I watched it on Hulu last week. It just makes me shake my head that so many shows with good premises can't seem to hire writers who can write intelligent mature drama. I am not going to even bother watching another episode of a show that will be cancelled after 1 season. For the show to have had a chance at all the pilot needed to be a homerun, and it was nowhere near one. There are too many good shows on for people to have any patience to wait and see if a show will get better over the course of the season. |
