| There are very few item restrictions in D3 (they actually removed restrictions on 2handed weapons), and getting a "class specific weapon" is not necessary at all. Imagine if there were real archtype restrictions on these items, like oldschool mmo's... and monks couldn't use anything with a blade on it. |

They buffed the weapon classes and changed a lot of the modifiers so that everything is more useful. It's not like the first game where you had 5 different weapon types that were a complete waste of time. |

I have yet to get a wicked awesome item for the actual class I'm playing in D3. |

WoW (and the popularization of MMO's in general) has changed the way gamers work, and the general public will never be able to fully accept a random loot game anymore. They need to know that when they kill X mob... W, Y, or Z item can drop but you know going in that they are upgrades for someone you are playing with. No one wants to deal with vendor fodder anymore or the off chance that a good deal of effort may result in a random item that no one can use.

The lack of good loot and epic items dropping has killed this game for many. Blizz just keeps screwing with the game but they are fixing all the wrong things. They are blinded by their own obsession and completely fail to listen to the users. This is precisely why I gave up on D3. The patch notes had a bunch of great stuff, but what they fail to realize is, as long as the loot drops consistently blow, players will feel unrewarded and move on to other games. Pretty basic concept that they just don't get. No, they do get it. This is what I said originally. It's how they get people into the AH and make money. No, they think they get it. What they will end up getting though, is reduced sales overall. Foot, meet bullet. |

I enjoy Diablo 3 and look forward to seeing what they do with it.
That being said, I just learned that the guaranteed yellow for 5 stacks of nephalem is attribute capped, which means there is a definite ceiling on how good that item can be. This in and of itself is a leading reason why people feel that all the drops are terrible, and should definitely be changed.
Metaphor time!
It feels like the carrot that Blizzard is dangling of guaranteed rare drops is just a piece of crap painted orange.
I also feel like a dedicated gambler finding out exactly how my preferred casino is rigging their games.

D3 is dead, or at least in a coma. PoE, TL2, BL2 all coming out in short order, all of them most likely more fun than the slogfest Blizzard released.
I think I'll check back in on D3 in about 2 years or so. |
