Regrettably I still get the TDR problem even with 306.02 drivers (560Ti), only fix is to set firefox to performance mode in nvidia control panel. Using driver sweeper between driver upgrades doesn't help. Only thing left to try is an OS reinstall and I don't feel like doing that right now. I have a Palit 560TI Sonic and had that issue for quite some time.
I managed to get it under control by disabling Nvidia Powermizer via registry entries and forcing constant voltage in MSI Afterburner at 1.025

WHQL 301.42 = ~160MB
WHQL 306.23 = ~175MB
After 310 series drivers the driver size should be a bit more conservative as well, because of them dropping legacy support for anything under the 8000 series GeForce cards (6000 & 7000 series are the only ones being cut)
I dont know what drivers Matshock was comparing these to but geforce drivers havent been under 90MB in a *long* time.
Also I think the driver issue you guys are talking about is the notorious TDR issue, which I've had happen to me only in one game (Team Fortress 2), and has completely resolved itself since. Last time I recall having the issue was around January. Some people reported getting the TDR issue in Firefox but it's never happened to me on 2x8800GT SLI or a GTX480.

It's probably some conspiracy!!!!!!!!
It must be that watermarking system the USA Homeland of Security picked up on from Blizzard Entertainment. probably now incorporated into Nvidia Kernel. $1,000 to the first one that reverse engineers it! |

seriously, you'd think that by removing Aero, and simply drawing large boxes that I can mimic on my etch-a-sketch, the drivers should have fit onto a 720K floppy. |

Oh yeah, I got it wrong- I see back in Dec '11 they were even 195mb. I just never noticed how big drivers had gotten until now.
People can make mistakes with no conspiracy needed nin. Often times they might even really believe they are right when they do so. But in the end the facts and figures speak for themselves, don't they?

| So can anyone explain to me why some laptop manufacturers make you download drivers from them vs. NVidia's site even with their new mobile drivers? I think they are limiting their gaming GPUs by not updating their graphics drivers as often. That's why I like LaptopVideo2Go so much. |

That's not helpful when they don't even admit the issue exists..... google "nvidia suspend issue" or "nvidia standby issue" ... I am sure it is not entirely nvidia to blame, likely something with mobo chipset and gpu or whatever else...
Still, the issue is not "new" .. it's been around for a small percentage of system configurations and nobody ever figured out what is causing it. Only for me, it only happens in the R300+ series of drivers.. talk about wtf kind of issue. |

| Still not touching them until they fix the standby bug and by the way, using R296 and have 0 problems in games... so yeah ;p Some games actually tell me my drivers are outdated, but performance is great, everything works and no weird issues.... |
