First Steam Greenlight Selections

Valve announces the first 10 titles being added to Steam thanks to the new Steam Greenlight program, saying they will be released independently in the months ahead. "The Steam community rallied around these titles and made them the clear choice for the first set of titles to launch out of Greenlight," said Anna Sweet of Valve. "Since launch, hundreds of titles have been submitted, with more coming in every day. We expect to be announcing more titles coming to Steam via Greenlight soon." Here are the ten honorees:

  • Black Mesa
  • Cry of Fear
  • Dream
  • Heroes & Generals
  • Kenshi
  • McPixel
  • No More Room in Hell
  • Project Zomboid
  • Routine
  • Towns

Can we just ban anyone using the terms "apologists" or "white knighting?"

Surefire signs of a lack of intelligence. For the contrast, we can also throw those using "haters" in. You all sound like Limp Bizkit fans. Or Juggalos.

Hehe, internet rants now qualify as "vindication."

Yeah, mad max will shit over that one.

Why? Congratulations to them for getting *something* released. But the apologists roll on! You will all be bitching after it's out realizing the thing isn't finished.

A year will go by and there will still be no conclusion. What will you be saying then?

After three years?

After five years?

I faced the same exact nonsense back in 2009 and have been totally vindicated by this.

Aw, no love for some games I voted for. I wonder if those actually got the "100% of the votes necessary" to be considered for sale on Steam..

I only vaguely remember Xen anyway, most of my time spent on that game was made up of various playthroughs that never even got that far.

I voted for Black Mesa, Kenshi, Project Zomboid and Towns. I've played the No More Room in Hell mod and would have voted for it, but somehow I never saw it.

Cool, Xen was not my favorite part of the game. I really enjoyed the ground fighting & exploring.

According to Raminator, one of the devs in their forums, Xen will be more like a full game in its own regard. Sounds interesting.

Consoles are schwag.

Woohoo Black Mesa!
Ditto!

Question: I heard Black Mesa is coming out this week? Is it just a small demo or is it the FULL HL1 game?

Everything up to xen, and no DM.
