Well that is maybe what it is. But you shouldn't forget that in Greece there are violent riots every now and then. And they will only get worse. It is always possible that radicals spy out military bases to get access to weapons and explosives.
I just mean as game-developer, you do not travel to military bases without asking very nicely first, and if you are told no.. well sucks to be you, Greece mainly has German hardware anyway ^^.
But as for why this reaction in from Greece... I do not know. I think the nerves are strained in Greece. It's not a good place to be right now as a foreigner.
And yeah, my snippish first post mainly targeted at the fact that this isn't exactly the first time ;p |

As if they had something to hide... You never hear about the Greek Army's prowess. Yea....well...you know what they said about the Spanish Inquisition! First off this just shows how idiotic the govt of Greece really is. Secondly, let’s get serious for a min; no one needs to run around with a Camcorder to get photos when a Satellite can do the job more efficiently and better. Plus were talking about Greece, really what military do they really have that matters in the world. |

Damn, I feel sorry for that Kuma dev... they probably beat him to a pulp for him to confess that he's with the CIA. Who has time to work for the CIA and be a game dev at the same? This: "he worked for Kuma Reality Games, which was paid by the CIA to design movies and video games with the objective of swaying consumers to receive a distasteful impression of the Middle East." sure... he'll probably get 19 years now, or worse, the death sentence. |

Greece worried about invasion from their neighbors?
Their politicians will be extra keen to find someone to blame for something - anything - to distract from the real problems. Incidentally, eRe4s3r didn't say it was warranted. This seems like the most likely explanation. Jackasses trying to distract from their jackassery. |

If you want to take pictures of a nation's military base, you go the said nation's government, you say "Hey, I'm with Bohemia Interactive Studios, we're making this game called Arma 3. We're going to base it on this island, and we want to make it look real life, so we'd like to take some outside pictures of your military base. Nothing secret, and we will let you have the final word on what we can show or not. Would that be okay?"
Then you sit through the year's worth of paperwork and elbow-greasing it takes to get something like that done. And then you go and take your pictures, while escorted by some dour old lieutenant who's three years away from retirement who grumbles at you all day how war is not a game and how if HE was in charge of the nation's youth, he'd show them how to play games and yadda yadda yadda.
Or, you know, you can just go there randomly and take pictures of some military base, and wind up with your ass in jail.
BIS devs... you chose poorly.

Wow. Who the hell cares about Greece's military anyway? Maybe they're afraid they'll sell the info back to the Greek government, seeing as they're their own worst enemy lately. |
