Steam Big Picture Beta Begins

The Steam Big Picture Page has word that the Windows beta for this new mode is now underway. "PC gaming continues to be the leading edge of entertainment, whether it's social gaming, MMOs, graphics hardware, free-to-play, or competitive gaming," said Gabe Newell, president of Valve. "With Big Picture for Steam, we are trying to do our part to give customers and developers what they want - their games, everywhere, optimized for the environment in which they are playing."

I'm love this so far...thinking about putting together a dedicated PC for the living room -- think i have a spare CPU and a 570gtx laying around. Good job Valve now if you could get full linux support up and running I would be forever grateful

This is awesome right here. Games just need to support it, like Skyrim for instance, which still needs a mouse to get through the launcher.

I think they want an interface you can control with just a controller. UI that scales would be a nice addition as well.

Why don't they just add a scale UI function to the existing steam client? Wireless mouse/kb.

I am posting this using the daisy wheel. Feels good, man. Exciting new developments in lazy fatassery happening as we speak.

Really hope they develop this text entry model further.
