Battlefield 3 Armored Kill Launch Trailer

The Battlefield 3 Website now offers a "launch trailer" for the Armored Kill DLC for the military shooter sequel. This is a bit of a tease for Windows and Xbox 360 gamers, as the pack is currently only available for Battlefield 3 Premium Members on the PS3. Premium members on other platforms can expect the pack on September 11th, while the unwashed masses will be able to get it on September 18th on the PS3 and September 25th for PC and Xbox 360. Word is: "Featuring new drivable tanks, ATV’s, mobile artillery and more, this expansion pack also delivers huge battlefields for an all-out vehicle assault. Armored Kill also includes the biggest map in Battlefield history."

Still play BF3 daily, Armored Kill isn't really my cup of tea but we'll see.

I think I'm the only one that doesn't care about Arma3, I found Arma 2 to be a clunky mess and all people did was play co-op, Day Z is a different story.

Ugh, what? No one played co-op/multiplayer because Arma 2 was a sellout to entice kiddies into the thermal sniper scoped weapons and flying fighters on strings... Their engine was a horrid animated mess.
Their game modes did not transfer well due to the game changing from iron sights to scopes... Arma was a infantry simulator and fantastic close quarters, Arma 2 was a poor decision. . This ranged warefare BS and no update to animations why Arma 2 failed, (not to mention the poor choice of marines, which took away the scout chopper at launch).

Their dev team when it comes to game modes was nothing short of pathetic.... They ruined what they had in Evolution with a piss poor paid port. The campaigns was a guess at why their game failed in numbers Seeing what DayZ brought might make them relook at their business model. And come up with some entertainment of what is a massive piece of sandbox awesomeness, that is missing a few tools, which they may have now implemented.. The new interface changes to simplify things looks tons better, and what I have seen in the VBS2 1.6 changes 2.0 coming out with the better editors. If this gets ported into Arma 3, it will be nothing short of amazing and can dominate the genre and outsell COD. There is endless game modes in my mind for A3, from what I have seen... Dayz will be a flash in the past.

I actually went and checked the official BF blog- there was one post about stepping up anti-cheat efforts in January 2012 then nothing but expansion marketing thereafter.

That pretty much tells me everything I need to know- pass.

It's a shame too- BF3 was awesome from release up until DEC 2011. I'd be all in but for the cheating.

Nah, I still like the game. Just haven't played in awhile since they never managed to stop the blatant hacking - plus I didn't pick up Close Quarters (not my cup 'o tea). This DLC looks like it could be better, so I might snag it. Depends if the other guys I tend to play with are interested as well.

Yeah that's pretty much why I gave up. The hacking is incredibly rampant, there are a dozen multihacks and various exploits out there for the game. I can accept the fact that there will be hackers in a multiplayer FPS but when you don't even try to protect the integrity of the game then I lose interest quickly.

As for DLC and map design, BF3 has better FPS mechanics than its predecessors but it's no Counter-Strike. I found the overall mapping goals to be really choke point heavy even on larger more "open" maps which was really frustrating. There was a distinct lack of vehicle selection and variety on many maps too.

It really is hard to swallow why the BF series is getting priority on the PlayStation platform.

This would have sold me if it were launch content. However at this point for FPS games I'm more looking forward to ARMA 3 for realistic vehicle warfare and Planetside 2 for arcadey. Neither require Origin too, which is a plus!

I remember desert combat (mod for BF 1942). That was epic. If this DLC is as good as desert combat then it looks like I will break my origin embargo too.
Never argue with an idiot. They will drag you down to their level and beat you with experience.

Which one is the best one out there?

lol there is only 1 dlc so far until the 11th, and if you like CoD, you will probably like it....

Oh I guess there is Karkand too, that one is definitely worth it.

I haven't touched Dayz in about a month. If/when they actually get some more maps and actual things to do, I may give a fuck again.

As for the vanilla game, Arma 2 or 3 or w/e. I could not give a flying fuck about it. It does look cool, and if I had 30 to 50 friends to play with, it might actually be cool. I don't so I don't care.

I still like it too. Fucking hate EA and DICE for caving to them like bitches, but premium is worth it IF the next 3 DLC are good. Close Quarters sucks for the most part. Wrong fucking game for that shit.

While I still like Bf3, there will be no Bf4 in my future. A first for me. The only other Battlefield game I did not buy was the one on PS2, but since I don't own a PS2, I don't count that.

I enjoyed BF3 up until the point I got a feel for EA's business model for BF3. I gotta pay for this, and that, and I don't really get to play on large maps... inequalities across platforms. No thanks..

This DLC, like the other packs, would be more interesting if the changes were applied to all the maps. I never liked all these little mini games that the MP component ends up breaking up into.
Vanilla, Strike at Karkland, Close Quarters, Armored kill. That part where they said 4 new maps kind of kills it for me. I wish they'd implement these updates across all the maps so that if you love close quarters stuff you can simply play any of the maps, including this newest set, under those "rules" or whatever.

Maybe it'd be fun to fly the c130 gunship around that caspian border map? Maybe it'd be fun to use the blackhawk (there is a blackhawk...right?) on Firestorm (or whatever that map is called) This isn't a new problem but I don't understand why they can't implement more variety across all the maps as they add more content.
