Scribblenauts Unlimited Coming To PC

Scribblenauts Unlimited is coming to Windows, reports Polygon, saying the PC edition of 5th Cell's action/puzzle game will use Steamworks to distribute user-created content (thanks loonyboi). They offer some first-hand impressions of this version and its new interface:

Using the keyboard to quickly type in all those commands, Aubert was able to burn through the in-game event, which bundles a series of quests into a larger goal. 5th Cell promises more than 300 puzzles throughout the game.

Currently, the PC version of Scribblenauts Unlimited supports two control schemes: WASD movement for Max and click-to-move control with the mouse, similar to the tap-to-move scheme of previous Scribblenauts titles on Nintendo DS and iOS.

5th Cell confirmed during our demo that the Steam version of Unlimited will feature Steam achievements in addition to sharing of objects via Steam Workshop. But Slaczka declined to confirm whether Scribblenauts Unlimited would include any Team Fortress 2 goodies (or vice versa).

Reader Zachary spotted a rather unfortunate term in Scribblenauts entirely by accident: "sambo," which summons ... a watermelon. We thought there was no way 5TH Cell would intentionally hide racist, or even racially charged, imagery in its game, so we contacted creative director Jeremiah Slaczka to figure out what happened.

This was my immediate thought on hearing this news and I want it like whoa. Betting it's a Pyro hat if it's not universal.

Having played the original DS version, it's a fun game and definitely something I would not have expected to come to the PC.

I've always wanted to try Scribblenauts but I didn't have any of the platforms.

That's me as well. Looking forward to finally checking it out...
