If it was 40+ inches and this high aspect ratio then that would be a different story or if it's really cheap (not likely). Yup.
Odd aspect ratios make some sense for TVs, where they encourage media content creators to fill the screen by filming in improved aspect ratios, but for computers you're just losing real estate (unless the price compensates equally.)
Web sites tend to be vertical, not horizontal, so I really do not want 21:9.
Although, in truth, I suppose it does beat 2 or 3 regular monitors for wide screen gaming, and that's the advantage. I run a 2 monitor setup right now, anyway (had 3, not anymore), and I can see how this has advantages. A 30" monitor is stupid tall for regular work, but this could replace 2 23"s. |
