I Am Alive PC Edition Lives

I am alive, declares the PC edition of I Am Alive, as Ubisoft announces the on again/off again Windows version of the post-apocalyptic action/adventure is on again, and is scheduled for release on September 13th. Word is this will have some PC enhancements, and preordering the game will get customers a free copy of Bloody Good Time:

Today, Ubisoft announced that I Am Alive, a believable post-apocalyptic action-adventure game, will be made available on September, 13 2012 for Windows® PC.

I Am Alive follows an everyman's journey to find his wife and daughter, who were lost during the "Event." A year later, he finds Haventon, his hometown, in shambles. Buildings are destroyed, toxic ash fills the streets and society has been torn, causing inhabitants to take all necessary actions to survive. In I Am Alive, players will be challenged by both the environment and the enemies. Stamina and resource management are key when being exposed to deadly atmospheres and scaling enormous buildings in search of supplies. The unique combat system requires players to utilize intimidation - cowards are easily swayed with an empty gun, while other enemies will put players to the test.

I Am Alive will launch on the PC with higher resolutions and sharper graphics. Along with the visual upgrades, gamers will have two new modes available to them. The "Easy" mode which will allow infinite retries and a smoother introduction to I Am Alive, and the "Replay" mode will permit players to revisit previously completed levels to uncover more secrets and hidden objects.

I Am Alive will be available for $14.99 on Ubishop, Steam and other digital retailers.

If players pre-order the game, they will get the Ubisoft game Bloody Good Time for free. For more information on this offer please visit: http://shop.ubi.com/IAmAlive

It's a shame, I saw this at gamestop and it had my interest, for $15 I would have probably picked it up, but with the comments that most of us are pirates, I think I'll let my wallet do the speaking for me.

That's pretty much where I'm at.

I'm torn. I really, REALLY want to play Assassin's Creed 3, especially now that there's ship battles (I've been waiting for an age of sail sim for eons now) that look fucking awesome.

However, Ubisoft assumes I'm a thief. I'm having troubles justifying purchases with people who assume that I'm a thief.

ubi can go suck and egg, haven't played one of their games in years. Just as others have said, better games, better service, customer appreciation and cheaper prices are found elsewhere.
The people can always be brought to the bidding of the leaders. That is easy. All you have to do is tell them they are being attacked and denounce the pacifists for lack of patriotism and exposing the country to danger. It works the same way in any country.

I can go to GoG and buy ~20-year-old, AAA titles that require at least 50 hours to complete for $5-$10--damn good games--and these guys are peddling 3 hours of game play for $15? Are they insane? That's demo material! No wonder these Ubi folks are so screwed up when it comes to computer games--they have no clue. They have to be some of the dumbest adults in the industry--*are* they adults? It doesn't sound like that.

I didn't even read anywhere before that this was an XBL Arcade game.. heh, On the trailers this looked like a full blown game, not some 4 hour snack.

Actually, I think I have already seen 20% of the game then, given how much the trailers must have spoilered

Yeah, cause making yourself part of the problem is totally going to convince them that DRM is a bad idea.

If we're lucky Ubisoft will abandon the platform and everyone will be happier.

Not buying and of course not pirating either. Ubi has guaranteed themselves absolutely no purchases from me & friends until they drop their DRM (recursively) and apologize for tons of insults and stupid comments, i.e., never.

Actually I was thinking the opposite.. 15$ for a AAA game? Or did I misjudge this game so drastically? It looked like a real AAA exploration / action-platformer kind of thing. Or is it like.. only 4 hours long?

I didn't realize XBLA games qualify as AAA titles these days.

$15?! Why? When I can steal it for free!!! I'd hate for us to make liars of Ubisoft so I hope no one if planning on paying for this!

Cutter, with hard work like yours...we can push the rate to 97%!

Ah, a true visionary!

Seriously, I'll wait to see the reviews. $16 makes you wonder.
Which is one reason why AAA titles are automatically priced at $50-$60.

PC gamers are filthy thieves and pirates! Oh, and buy our IAA port since it didn't make enough money on the consoles. You're all still filthy worthless pirates though. Buy our port!

The game is supposed to be really bad so thanks for that "favor" Ubisoft.

The Games pretty good. It's not as deep as they first had when talking about it. But it's def fun for the 3-5 hours it takes to complete it on xbox. I really feel there's a LOT more that could be done with this setting.

I think it was originally supposed to be a full-fledged retail game. However, Ubisoft decided it was either too risky or not making the kind of progress they wanted, so they reduced the scope to a downloadable game.
