I Am Alive PC Edition Lives

I am alive, declares the PC edition of I Am Alive, as Ubisoft announces the on again/off again Windows version of the post-apocalyptic action/adventure is on again, and is scheduled for release on September 13th. Word is this will have some PC enhancements, and preordering the game will get customers a free copy of Bloody Good Time:

Today, Ubisoft announced that I Am Alive, a believable post-apocalyptic action-adventure game, will be made available on September, 13 2012 for Windows® PC.

I Am Alive follows an everyman's journey to find his wife and daughter, who were lost during the "Event." A year later, he finds Haventon, his hometown, in shambles. Buildings are destroyed, toxic ash fills the streets and society has been torn, causing inhabitants to take all necessary actions to survive. In I Am Alive, players will be challenged by both the environment and the enemies. Stamina and resource management are key when being exposed to deadly atmospheres and scaling enormous buildings in search of supplies. The unique combat system requires players to utilize intimidation - cowards are easily swayed with an empty gun, while other enemies will put players to the test.

I Am Alive will launch on the PC with higher resolutions and sharper graphics. Along with the visual upgrades, gamers will have two new modes available to them. The "Easy" mode which will allow infinite retries and a smoother introduction to I Am Alive, and the "Replay" mode will permit players to revisit previously completed levels to uncover more secrets and hidden objects.

I Am Alive will be available for $14.99 on Ubishop, Steam and other digital retailers.

If players pre-order the game, they will get the Ubisoft game Bloody Good Time for free. For more information on this offer please visit: http://shop.ubi.com/IAmAlive

I shall pirate this. I want those 95% numbers to climb to 100%

Yeah, cause making yourself part of the problem is totally going to convince them that DRM is a bad idea.

From what I understand it's not much more than 4 hours long. Most say 3 to 5 hours. I'm not buying it on principle for what the developer said when the game first came out and what Ubi's president recently said.

Actually I was thinking the opposite.. 15$ for a AAA game? Or did I misjudge this game so drastically? It looked like a real AAA exploration / action-platformer kind of thing. Or is it like.. only 4 hours long?

Releasing against Boarderlands 2 & GW2?

It's almost like they *want* to be shot down.

“We’ve heard loud and clear that PC gamers are bitching about there being no version for them,” said Mettra. “But are these people just making noise just because there’s no version or because it’s a game they actually want to play? Would they buy it if we made it?”

“It’s hard because there’s so much piracy and so few people are paying for PC games that we have to precisely weigh it up against the cost of making it. Perhaps it will only take 12 guys three months to port the game to PC, it’s not a massive cost but it’s still a cost. If only 50,000 people buy the game then it’s not worth it.”

So yeah, I'm not buying it. I'm not pirating it either, despite being a thieving unthankful pc gamer.
