Also the quad cores and above even the low ones, all run at 3ghz per core anyway (Laugh, i have a hexacore) Who could have expected that Intel slams out the I7 and pwns everything. But then again, it was like 400€ cheaper Anyway, who cares about requirements. They are like fishing in the fog. If you can play any console port on your native res you can play this. |

There are plenty of two-year-old video cards that can run this game. Next time spend more than $100 on a card if you are expecting it to be current for two years. Hell, the Radeon 5850 was released almost three years ago. |

| The DX11 patch for Crysis 2 added horribly broken and butt ugly parallax mapping if you mean that. Which kinda proves my point. You can tack on features but unless you design the whole art pipeline around it you will end up with brokeness, not beauty. So me, I'd rather take a dx9 game than tacked on features just for the sake of it. Games can look stunning with dx9 |

| I'm not really sure why people put so much thought into official requirements. Dishonored is a console port. If you can run other console ports, there's a 99% chance that Dishonored will run just as well. Granted, there is the occasional port that's horribly optimized but such cases are the exceptions rather than the rule. |

...which is why you see so many games specifically made for DX11 not supporting DX9 and vice versa. So how do you explain the DX11 patches for Crysis and the like?

| Your card is only 2 years old and beat by a gtx 460 with 512mb VRAM ? If you bought a card 2 years ago, you should have bought a 460 or AMD equiv at the least.. and the 460 raised the performance bar a lot.. so yeah. |

| Nothing odd about that. If the game wasn't made specifically for DX11 there would be no reason to tack on dx11 features afterwards. All that does is look terribly because the predominant dx11 features require specific ways you do textures light and shaders, which makes them incompatible with DX9, which is why you see so many games specifically made for DX11 not supporting DX9 and vice versa. |

Minimum Specs put my 'lowly' 512mb HD4870 out of action and a question mark on my 1gb HD5770...they do know that there are vid-cards before the 5800-series that have more than 764mb of on-board RAM, right? Maybe it's time to retire the old girl, she's seen me through 2 Crysis' (Crysi?) without a hitch and was looking forward to seeing how she did on the third, but I realize now that I'm not going to be able to see the game as intended with it...Dishonored is DX9 only, so I don't understand the vid card requirement?

It only took until 2012 until a PC game finally started taking advantage of that. Anyway, looks beefy. I hope the game lives up to all its hype, because if it does, it might genuinely be one of the all-time greats.
Creston That was the first thing I noticed: the dual core mhz req is higher than the quad core, suggesting that it's highly threaded, something that is supposedly not easy to do. Well, good on them, I hope someone does some analysis (lookin' at you HardOCP) to see how much of a difference it makes.
Overall, I'm stoked that someone is doing new IP and creating their own world instead of doing a retread or sequel. |

That could be a hint as to what it's ported from, as well as how much work went into the PC version.
