there's a ton of long play gameplay videos on youtube for bulletstorm. They give a great idea how fun the game can be just creating combos out of the mobs.
It is a one-note game, but it does that one note very very well. |

Only one guy that had much to do with Painkiller's design went to Flying Wild Hogs. By and large it was engine guys and animators that went. The game designers, weapon designers and level designers did not go. The AI guys, engine guys and some of the artists did. And about as many people from The Witcher ended up there. |

I just sorta noticed something. id software had Raven, Bioware had Obsidian, Epic had/has People can Fly. It's like they were turned to the darkside and slowly had the life crushed out of them. |

| From what Rein is saying about Chmielarz, it sounds a bit like he's starting his own studio and will be partnering with Epic. If that's the case, then that new studio is probably the real heir to PCF, while Epic's Polish studio gets further retooled to be a support studio for Epic's main operations. |

Like I said, the attempt at in-your-face marketing failed, as it almost always does. This wasn't "Make You It's Bitch" bad, but it was close as far as terrible advertising goes. I feel the same, the advertising was broadcasting to me, 'THIS GAME ISN'T FOR YOU.' Not that cursing offends me, it just all seemed very juvenile. I imagine the dudebro market probably received it a little better. Which was really disappointing after how awesome painkiller was.
Maybe I will need to go check it out afteralll... I already know the lack of jumping will take some getting used to, heh. |

| Bulletstorm was actually a lot better than I expected but they hyped it up too much, took a long time to offer a decent sale on Steam and made some poor design decisions (no jump?!). The marketing just didn't do it justice. |

Sad that Homefront, essentially lesser content both in quality and quantity, sold millions more. |

avianflu wrote on Aug 13, 2012, 12:23: marketing bulletstorm for $59 (console) was a big pricing mistake.
Epic was the only group that though it was worth the price of a full retail game. It's on sale at Best Buy for $5 right now, PS3 and 360. It's an absolute steal for that.
I paid $40 for it, and thought that was fair given that I put about 18 hours into multiplayer. For single player only $30 would have been better. The "echos" or whatever, were far less engaging than I would have hoped and I only played a few minutes of that.
I still feel it was a way underrated game, killed by trying to market itself on attitude and failing the way most in-your-face attitude campaigns seem to in gaming. I had a blast in single player. Yeah, it clearly seemed like some of the weapons were more designed for faster gaming, but that didn't detract much for me. |

I didn't realize there were flying people for sale. Are there any left or did Epic buy all of them? |
