It's peculiar how people will say "I'll wait until it reaches a certain level before I buy X average to bad game". Why buy it at all? Gotta have everything?

Willingness to pay. If you think you'll really enjoy something, it's higher. If you think you might possibly get some enjoyment out of it, but aren't sure, it's lower.
