| And what is the problem with that? As long as they delete it again there is no damage. Of course, releasing a broken game should be illegal to begin with. |

This is why we still, even in these 'advanced times', need a frackin' DEMO! Hello?!? If there isn't a demo and there's some bad press/word of mouth going around, the people 'on the fence' are going to do one of three things:
1. Hold off for the time being and either forget about it completely (especially if something much more superior comes around in the meantime) or waits until there's a 80%-off sale...
2. Buy it anyway and hope they don't get screwed again...
3. DOWNLOAD IT! And since there's no demo, where the hell do you think they'll get it from?
EXACTLY.

This is a clear case of a valid refund if anyone asks for one. |

| Well, at least SotS2 was fixed for the most part by the Devs. Hoping that the same is done for LoP. |

Although, it does actually have an tutorial, so that puts it above SOTS2 in a sense ;p Yeah, hearing a lot of people complain about that alt-tab thing to start the game, and for many the game doesn't start no matter what.
Good grief, if not for Endless Space then SoTSII and LoP would probably have killed the space 4x genre for a long while. Fucking incompetent testers and publishers who still haven't figure out that it's better to have a flexible date and release something that works than meet the date and the wrath of gamers for a broken, busted product. |

WHOOHOO!!! I didn't preorder!!!
Anyway, Endless Space is tiding me over just fine and they released a big patch for it yesterday too.
LoP doesn't seem quite as bad as SoTS2 was on release so they can probably get to a 'decent' state with a few patches.
And for the record, I really don't like GalCiv 2 that much. The ship design feature is huge chunk of time wasting when they could have done better graphics and just let you add modules like ES. It works out EXACTLY the same because everything else is cosmetic. The battles are a yawn fest, and no, I don't play space 4x games just for the empire building. |

| Well I was talking about the Publisher, and I know this, but if a publisher still does that nowadays they must have suicidal tendencies. Because after SOTS2 I would think people become a lot more aggressive and quick to demand refunds now. And Steam just loves that. |

More confounding is that after SOTS2 someone has actually the gall to do this shit over again. Can't wait for people to claim it "runs fine" and that it will be "fixed within 6 weeks" and that the DLC being offered for free to ease the waves.
Holy hell, Kalypso though, so no surprise. |

Game getting hammered on the Steam forums and other gaming forums. We may have a second SotSII situation.
Seems I've been getting lucky on these games. Avoided SotSII and this one and pre-ordered Endless Space which is actually quite great if a bit simple and got Galactic Civilizations II:UE on the Steam sales. In fact if you want a great space 4x get GCII:UE or MoO2 or Endless Space for something lighter. Shame, this one had promise but the forums are really flaming. |

It's a bit buggy. Maybe the version released on Steam was not the correct release version? Otherwise we have another Sword Of The Stars II situation.
The design seems good, but there are too many issues atm for it to be playable imo. |
