| Where I grew up the joke is it always rains during county fair week. This year after weeks (months?) of drought, sure enough it started raining the week before fair week, and continued throughout fair week. Never fails. |

XXX Olympics kind of gives a whole new meaning to getting screwed by the Russian judge. Is it true that NBC cut out 'Abide with me'? Can you imagine the outcry if a foreign broadcaster cut a 9/11 tribute from a US show? |

| The farmers here in central Illinois are definitely feeling the lack of rain. Predictions on the corn harvest move downward daily. Based on what they are saying on the local ag. radio shows, we are approaching dust bowl levels of drought. |

Hey, there are droughts all over. Up here in Hogtown they state this has been the least amount of rain we've seen in a summer in 20 or 30 years.
Nature being cyclical this means we're in for a brutal winter in the Northeast and Midwest. You can mark these words today, gents, and see if they're not true come this winter. |

| Yeah they're calling for the same here. We're sitting at 60-80% under normal, I was out talking with a buddy who was doing maintenance on his field pumps. Next year he's going with an underground feeder system, but he's dug a 3rd and 4th pond just incase, as he likes to put it. Better to be paranoid and prepared than not. On the upside, his soy and corn are going to sell very well. |
