Spies movies and sci-fi? What do you mean by sci-fi exactly? "Spies in space" definitely sounds like something campy from the 60's lol. Well, some of the gadgets that movie spies use, especially many of the ones that Q would introduce Bond to for use on his missions would fall into sci-fi category. I'm okay with that. Even the sci-fi superweapons the villains would conjure up were usually pretty cool. The villains themselves and some of their henchmen though - some of them felt like they came right out kids cartoons. I liked Moonraker with its space action and laser guns, but Jaws just makes me roll my eyes. |

They are movies. Fake. It's a bit of fun. Are you American? Yes. I'm not going to be lectured on my unsophisticated tastes by a discerning British gentleman now, am I?
Obviously movies are fake - that's self-evident. I love spy movies when they effectively straddle the line between reality and sci-fi, but too often the Bond movies went to far into the unbelievable for my tastes. No, I'm Australian, I'll spare you the lecture. I do think some of the earlier humour is lost on you Americans though - espically Moore's. Daniel Craig could wipe away the tears and crack some more jokes once in a while, but I do enjoy the brute force as shown in Casino Royale.
Everyone has their favourite.

sit down and shut up... the adults are having a conversation here Um, kid? if I was a kid how would I know about Roger Moore? You remind me of Sheriff JW Pepper, boy.

Not because he is a fellow Australian but because he was able to show the exact same force/strength that Connery had but with his own personality and spin on the character. He successfully showed the emotional depth of Bond. Plus the movie is awesome. |

At least the Craig movies have some grounding in a world close to our own, and his Bond is flawed, complex, and believable. They are movies. Fake. It's a bit of fun. Are you American? |

| I like Craig's Bond too. I love the other Bond movies, but the cheese/camp factor got a little too high at times. Craig's Bond has a better balance of suave and tough guy, and like you said, the villains (and their goals) are a bit less ridiculous. |

Wow, Michael Lonsdale reprising his Hugo Drax role. That is awesome, he had one of the best voices of the bond villians.
They should have got Roger Moore as Bond. |
