Rich Vogel has left BioWare, where he was serving as executive producer on
Star Wars: The Old Republic, reports
Gamasutra, where they say their attempts to get a comment from BioWare or EA on the reasons for this have so far been unsuccessful. They also say this news comes amid rumors of layoffs at BioWare Austin, but it is not clear whether these reports of job losses at the developer of the Star Wars MMORPG are related to the
cuts announced in May, though Gamasutra adds it "understands that Vogel's departure preceded the purported layoffs." Thanks Joao.

yea, theres all kinds of hell going on there with them. I have a contact there thats very close to this project and hes telling me its not good at all. Wont be much longer until this game is either free or shut down.
Normally I'd say it's insane to shut down the game when it's less than a year old, but this is EA, who shuts down servers for year old games all the time.
Did Earth and Beyond even last a year? Heck MPBT:3025 never even made it out of beta, then Kesmai got shut down less than a year after it was canceled. |
