You gave them $60 too sooooooo
Everything isn't created equal. I can hate one company's version of DRM while thinking another is ok, even if they seem to be the same on the surface. It's all about implementation and reputation. |

Yet you had no problem buying Diablo 3 which has one of the worse DRM structures know to man and was designed in such a way to make Blizzard even more money post release. A lot of people who bought Diablo 3 have come to regret it (judging from these and other forums). Blizzard had a great reputation once, but they have done serious damage to it in the last couple of years. If they keep going the way they have been, they may end up being hated as much as EA; maybe worse. I know I myself have gone from loving Blizzard to despising them. They had better do a serious about face or Starcraft 2 may well end up as the last Blizzard game I ever buy. He does have a good point though, anyone who bought D3 knowing full well what kind of DRM it came with have no validation whatsoever to complain about EA Origins or any other DRM for that matter. They already made their opinion about DRM and shitty service providers pretty clear when they got D3.
At lease people have finally realized that Blizzard has become like its mother company, it now only loves money. Pretty much, for all the people that rally against EA/Origin, most of that list of people ran out and gladly gave Blizzard 60 dollars for always on singleplayer with game design that encourages you to spend more. Very few complained. |

I think maybe you TOLD yourself to be satisfied, and thus you were satisfied. But I don't think you are truly satisfied. Today I learned that games must last players for years to be "satisfying". |

Why not just announce BF5 alpha and tell us that they're working on BF6 but expect to see BF7 soon and that they have plans for BF8?
After BarfFest 3 I am through with DICE. F2P shooters FTW. |

People don't hate on EA just for a laugh. People hate on EA because they have incredibly shitty business practices, they oppose the sales that have drawn so many people towards Steam, they use restrictive DRM (limited activations on Crysis 2, etc), their Origin service is half-assed and unreliable (I barely use it but my brother has had major trouble with it), they charge absolutely comically high prices for games, they treat their developers like dirt, they shut down great studios, they rape IPs (C&C, The Sims, Dragon Age, NFS, etc).
I hate that people try to pass off the dislike for EA as irrational. It's not the games themselves that people have the problem with (many of which are excellent) - it's the shitty business practices of EA. Anyone who falls for this is a true sucker..
No one remembers how EA ripped off its customers selling BF3 beta access for the flop game Medal of Honor? If this was April 1st, I'd be laughing my ass off.. But if this is true, my dream of suing EA for fraud may come to life.
They sold Medal of Honor, and gave BETA access to BF3, not even 2 weeks before release, and 24 hours later they released OPEN BETA, basically slapping any clueless kid who bought into their BS marketing scams..
They are doing it again? OMG, they serious think their customers are blithering idiots... And its starting to look like they are...

Can't speak for anyone else, but personally I tend to hate on EA because they fucking suck as a company; they are obsessed with profit to the detriment of everything else (no NOT just like every other company...), they destroy creativity, and treat their customers like shit. I'm no Valve loyalist (a fan, sure), but Valve is vastly better in virtually every conceivable way. I don't disagree, Origin Systems? Dead, Westwood? Dead, Bullfrog dead. Bioware? Just about there, though in Bioware's case they were heading that direction anyway, EA just sped up the process.
I hate that some of my favorite studios and franchise will prolly never see another quality title set in their respective universes. I'd kill to see another proper Wing Commander, or another proper Ultima (and no that shit Bioware is doing with the IP doesn't count) Or another Dungeon Keeper game.
That being said they do publish titles that I like and I don't buy into the silly "boycotts" the gaming community likes to toss around. If any publisher puts out a game I'm prolly going to enjoy, I'll most likely buy it. /shrug |

Bad Company 2 was solid, ME3 was solid aside from the shitty ending. The Dead Space titles aren't too bad either.

That sucks... DICE should honestly make Battlefield 2143 or Bad Company 3 before they start making a Battlefield 4. Its just way too soon to make BF4 after BF3.

| I think everyone knew that Battlefield 4 was inevitable. Announcing or even hinting at a sequel this soon after the launch BF3 and the premium DLC sends the wrong message. Most people want new content yes, but they want the game be treated better than a disposable service. That said expecting them to wait another 5 years for a sequel is absurd also. |
