He does have a good point though, anyone who bought D3 knowing full well what kind of DRM it came with have no validation whatsoever to complain about EA Origins or any other DRM for that matter. They already made their opinion about DRM and shitty service providers pretty clear when they got D3.

At lease people have finally realized that Blizzard has become like its mother company, it now only loves money.

I am happy to buy EA games that are a) sensibly priced, b) don't have restrictive DRM, and c) are released on Steam. Unfortunately that means I've missed out on ME3 and BF3 but I'm not going to support a company that is trying to increase the price of games and push a service that is inferior to Steam in just about every way.

People don't hate on EA just for a laugh. People hate on EA because they have incredibly shitty business practices, they oppose the sales that have drawn so many people towards Steam, they use restrictive DRM (limited activations on Crysis 2, etc), their Origin service is half-assed and unreliable (I barely use it but my brother has had major trouble with it), they charge absolutely comically high prices for games, they treat their developers like dirt, they shut down great studios, they rape IPs (C&C, The Sims, Dragon Age, NFS, etc).

I hate that people try to pass off the dislike for EA as irrational. It's not the games themselves that people have the problem with (many of which are excellent) - it's the shitty business practices of EA.

Can't speak for anyone else, but personally I tend to hate on EA because they fucking suck as a company; they are obsessed with profit to the detriment of everything else (no NOT just like every other company...), they destroy creativity, and treat their customers like shit. I'm no Valve loyalist (a fan, sure), but Valve is vastly better in virtually every conceivable way.

Eh I wouldn't go that far, I enjoyed BF3 for a couple months, I felt I got my money's worth out of it. I know the majority here are PC only but their NHL game has gotten better every year since the 07 edition.

Bad Company 2 was solid, ME3 was solid aside from the shitty ending. The Dead Space titles aren't too bad either.

Sure some of their practices I don't like but I could say that for every single publisher, Valve included. People tend to hate on EA just for the sake of hating on EA because it's the popular thing to do.
